God the Holy Spirit: The Mystery of Christianity (Copy)

When we speak or write about the Holy spirit, we are talking about:

  • Inspiration, breath of God into our life that made men and women, a living soul, first as in Gen 2:7.
  • Empowerment of disciples as Jesus did again to them in,
  • And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:22.

  • A change in tongues in communication technology. With the Holy spirit in you, you begin to speak in tongues as initial physical sign. See Acts 2:4
  • Speaking mysteries. You begin to operate at a divine or super human level of anointing. See 1 Corinthians 14:2
  • Receiving exousia power that grants you immunity from satanic attacks as in Luke 10:19
  • Receiving dunamis power as accredited representative of God. It is about power to be carrier of God. A kind of ‘theotokos’. See Acts 1:8
  • Getting the power and inspiration to turn the world right side up. See Acts 17:6

With the presence of Holy spirit in Christians, they become ‘power-packed’ and so they are too dangerous to be messed with by worldly or satanic powers. We are talking about the type of power that moved Elijah, Elisha, Paul and even our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

You need the Holy spirit in you to do exploits, for divine or God-inspired promotion

I agree with my General overseer when he and late Gomba Fortunatus Oyor said jointly in their book‘Let God promote you. Samuel declared in, 1Sa 12:6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt’.

Pastor Adeboye and Gomba Oyor further said,‘when God is the one  promoting  you, He promotes you everlastingly’. A. ADEBOYE and Gomba Oyor

In The God of Advancement, (Ibadan: Freedom Press, 2015), 4.

Even when God is inspiring you, there are certain actions expected of you as human being. Even when Christ by his word commanded lazarus to come forth, He still asked human beings to “loose lazarus and let him go!” see John 11:44

‘The problem with many of us is that when we have dreams, we do not make deliberate efforts to keep the dreams we have had alive. Many of us have dreams but give up on our dreams so soon. Joseph Jacob was not like that; he had dreams and kept his dreams alive in Genesis 37:4-11’1.( (E. A. Adeboye and Gomba Oyor, 2015),88.

In this highly researched work, Pastor Obisakin has been able to reflect on the Holy Spirit comprehensively. He has touched the aspects of: His Personality, names, emblems, attributes, works, gifts and power. He has equally indicated some methods of Holy Spirit baptism, and has even examined some of the roles of the Holy Spirit at the close of age. The book is deep in theology and yet so practical. It contains sermon topics for preachers and prayer points for members and ministers alike.

Indeed, God the Holy Spirit: Mystery of Christianity is a book that I gladly recommend for all Pastors, scholars and especially all who want to learn about God the Holy Spirit. Considering that this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit, you need to know as much as you can about Him.

And certainly this book will help

Although there is no single textbook that can adequately inform students in the School of Christian Spirituality on this subject under discussion, this book coming from an experienced Pentecostal preacher has given considerable insight into the acts of the Holy Spirit among men of faith past and present.  The practical experience and pedagogical exposition of the author has made this book invaluable to genuine seekers of the truth about the third person in the Holy Trinity.

I therefore recommend this book to men and women especially those of the Christian faith who want to have accident-free journey through the wilderness of this world to the heavenly Promised Land.

To all intent and purpose, this book is for genuine seeker of truth (Christian or non-Christian) who wishes to know the truth of God and enter into personal intimate, enduring and richly rewarding relationship with God as His friend and tool in realizing the kingdom objectives of preaching, teaching, evangelizing, healing, deliverance and the working of miracles, signs and wonders to a deluded world.

A good perusal of God the Holy Spirit: The Mystery of Christianity, will open man’s understanding concerning the leverage God has provided for transforming man from darkness into light, ignorance into truth, bondage into liberty, sinfulness into holiness, wickedness into righteousness, sadness into joy, fear into hope, crisis into peace, failure into success, defeat into victory, loss into gain, vanity into glory, shame into praise, sickness into health and death into life.

The call in this book is for the contemporary Christian, and any man, to come to this understanding of how God works through the power of His incarnate word and spirit in order to unravel these divine mysteries of transforming and victorious life of the Christian.

On this basis, I recommend this book to be widely available to all Christians, but mere especially to those who did not have the benefit of theological training, and who desire a close walk with God.
